Pastor's Corner

Greetings! I am Rev. Michael E. Ferrell. I am presently assuming the pastoral position of the Baltimore Society. My wife, Janet, and I are sending our warm greetings and invitation to you to come and worship with us.
I would like to introduce us to you by giving you some background on us. Janet is originally from Virginia where she was raised in the Baptist faith. She is retired from the US Army Reserves after serving 23 years. She had lived for several years in Washington state. But due to the death of her father and the illness of her mother, she relocated back to Virginia in 2002. She currently lives with me (why of course!) in Maryland and works as a Medical Technologist in the hospital on Andrews Air Force Base.	Rev. Michael Ferrell and Janet Ferrell
I am originally from Louisville, KY. By way of the Army (5 years active duty and 27 years reserves) I migrated to Washington state also. I graduated from law school in 1986 and practiced law for 16 years. While in Washington I discovered in a book store some books written by Emanuel Swedenborg. I became interested in the content of the message and after some time contacted Cascade New Church in Seattle. I was baptized into the New Church.
I decided I wanted to do more in the area of teaching and helping others to understand the Writings and living according to the Lord's Word. So, I applied and was accepted in the Theological School. I graduated in 2005. Janet and I were married in 2004.
I am presently Assistant Pastor of the Washington Society in Mitchellville, MD. Although I have obligations there and other commitments nationwide, I am happy I am available to lead worship in Baltimore once a month. These are our worship dates for 2009-2010: Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Dec. 13, Jan. 24, Feb. 21, March 21, Apr. 18, May 16, and June 13. Our service begins at 11:00 a.m. with a short class beforehand, beginning at 10:15 a.m. Please come and worship with us!
